Welcome to Dolphin Dreaming

My name is Jessica Brady Dolphin.

My genuine curiosity for people and how they behave, feel, think and interact has led me here. My bi-lingual upbringing, travels and study of anthropology have all shaped my practice. My qualifications and experience in Psychotherapy and in particular Integrative Therapy, has given me the opportunity to offer a non-judgmental and accepting supportive space. My approach is to develop a trusting relationship in which you can explore the challenges in your life. With care and compassion, we work together to uncover insights and healing as well as gather tools and resources to support you.

Dolphin Dreaming

An unusual surname, Dolphin has led me to be open-minded, curious and resilient in this world. In the mix of psychotherapy, anthropology and shamanism, I fell in love with the Aboriginal Dreamtime. On my travels to Australia to explore more, a shaman and Aboriginal dot artist taught me about the native interpretation of the Unconscious. This heart-centered, accepting and holistic approach to healing and supporting mental wellbeing has informed my entire practice and is fundamental to the work I do with clients at Dolphin Dreaming Therapy.

My Qualifications

My core qualification is my Postgraduate Professional Diploma in Integrative and Humanistic Psychotherapy from the Tivoli Institute. It is a recognised psychotherapy qualification with a strong practical, as well as theoretical basis. The focus on the development of an equal therapeutic relationship is key to this form of psychotherapy, and something that is important to me as a therapist and counsellor. It is the therapist’s role to guide, facilitate and support the client. The integrative and humanistic approach is based on this guidance rather than constant direction. The client is the expert on themselves and their own experiences.

The practical element of this course requires extensive supervision and client practice in a variety of settings, dealing with a range of issues. This client practice includes placement of 220 hours. I chose to complete a large portion of my client practice with both the Rape Crisis Centre and SOSAD Navan, two organisations that are close to my heart that have also given me the tools and experience to support my clients who have experienced sexual trauma or incidences of suicide in their lives.

After qualifying, I completed 450 hours of post-qualification client contact hours before obtaining accreditation with the IACP.  Each year I attend a minimum of 20 hours of Continuing Professional Development courses as well as a minimum of 12 sessions with a highly qualified and experienced supervisor. Regularly attending courses and training further my interest in expertise in specific areas of therapy in order to help my clients in the best way I possibly can.
